Donation Scam

Recently the Complaints department has noticed a huge rise in scam complaints which has led the Complaints Team being over run with Scam complaints. Usually the scammer has received payment for the donation and gone straight to the dice casino where he has gambled away the money he has just received, in very small amounts. When this occurs we as a Complaints Team have to track each individual transfer which can be very difficult due to how dice betting works. For example the scammer may first win a few bets and then lose more than that, inevitably they end up with nothing because its not their money, its the innocent victim's money so they just carry on gambling. On top of this a whole new dynamic is added when the person that has won off the scammer then goes to bet again with other people. As I am sure you can understand this is a very ineffective and time consuming process which usually leads to a number of people falling victim to the scammer. The person that has trusted the scammer to donate for him and the person that has lost their winnings because the money is not rightfully theirs.

We have come up with a way to combat this issue, this is the only situation in which we will be handling complaints, regarding donation scams (all being that they will be very rare due to how the new systems works). From now on if you wish to get another player to donate for you by paying them in game cash you must find your donater and /report "i need an admin to oversee my donation." When you get an admin you should get them to come to you on their RP account when you will both agree to the deal you are proposing, make sure you all know EXACTLY what the deal is. You will then give the ADMIN your money to hold onto until the person has donated and you have received your item. I'm sure you will all understand that this is a necessary step to take in protecting our players and making sure their experience is as enjoyable as it should be.

Please note that this is only a temporary system, we are currently working on a more permanent, scripted solution. Any complaints that are posted before this thread is posted will still be dealt with following the old procedures.
